Vince McMahon stood as the barrier preventing Kofi Kingston from going into Wrestlemania 35, again. Even after winning the scheduled Gauntlet on Smackdown, he added one more name into the contest who pinned Kofi to keep him away from the main event match at the biggest event of the year. Here are the details from the match.
Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus-Cesaro distracted Kofi giving the upper-hand to Sheamus. But Kofi dodged a Brogue Kick and hit the Trouble in Paradise for the win.
Kofi Kingston vs. Cesaro-Kofi hit an SOS on Cesaro to pin him.
Kofi Kingston vs. Rowan-The Behemoth disqualified himself from the Gauntlet after hitting Kofi with a chair and throwing him on the commentary table.
Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe-Kofi reversed a Muscle Buster from Joe with a roll-up for the victory.
Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton-Kofi countered an RKO attempt by Orton with another roll-up for the win.
Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan-Bryan took advantage of a weary Kofi by delivering a Running Knee for the win. This confirmed that Bryan was not having Kofi as his opponent at Wrestlemania over the title. Despite the fans wanting to see Kofi in a title match against Bryan, it is not happening.
Vince McMahon gave the toughest task to Kofi Kingston if he wants to compete in a title match at Wrestlemania 35. He has been pursuing the prime title ever since Elimination Chamber. The crowd supported him in the strongest way possible to culminate a Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship.
But Vince McMahon never believed in Kofi Kingston. As per him, this man does not possess any special talent to be called an A category player. Rather The Boss called him a B-plus player which will not allow him to compete in a much-anticipated title match. However, McMahon did listen to the pledge of the WWE.
He handed over a final challenge to Kofi Kingston on last week’s episode. Vince McMahon announced a Gauntlet match on Smackdown featuring the high-flyer. In order to earn the Wrestlemania title match, The New Day member would have to defeat five names in a row. It was an unthinkable task for him in the start. But eventually, Kofi Kingston managed to overcome all the odds only to find out his effort was not good enough.
We still believe that Kofi Kingston will find a way to go into Wrestlemania 35, somehow. At this point, it’s not possible for the WWE creative team to create a new rivalry on Smackdown Live. They have only two more episodes before going into the biggest event of the year. We hope Kofi-Mania will ultimately prevail by any means.
