Summerslam is less than two weeks away from us. Most of the championship match lineups were official before this week’s WWE Raw. The only title match that we did not have a clue about was the WWE Raw tag team championships. The B-team featuring Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel are the reigning champions.
They won the titles from Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt at the Extreme Rules PPV. It was a complete shocker for the WWE Universe. We expected the rivalry between the two tag teams to continue till Summerslam. But Hardy and Wyatt lost their title rematch a couple of weeks ago.
Last week, The Revival showed up challenging Hardy and Wyatt in a match. They picked up the win with quite an ease. Thus paved the way for them to get an opportunity to the WWE Raw tag team championships.
The general manager of the red brand announced a match last night addressing the scenario. He let The Revival take on the B-team in a match. If they could pick the win, they will compete in WWE Raw tag team title match at Summerslam. So the match took place on the show as per the usual schedule.
It was Curtis Axel who started against Dash Wilder in this match on WWE Raw. Dallas tagged in later only to go shoulder-first into the turnbuckle. Dawson hit a short-arm clothesline for a two count. He applied a chin-lock to wear down Dallas who fought out of the hold. He tried to gain upper-hand on behalf of his team.
But sooner the lights went out inside the arena. When it came back, we witnessed Matt Hardy, and Bray Wyatt were standing inside the ring. Axel and Dash Wilder were no more around the ringside. Hardy and Wyatt started attacking Dawson and Dallas inside the ring. Hardy hit Dawson with a Twist of Fate while Wyatt downed Dallas with Sister Abigail.
Later, we received an announcement about the fate of the WWE Raw tag team championship. We will not have this match on the Summerslam match card. Instead, The B-Team will have to defend their titles next week. The Revival and The Deletor of Worlds will be the two other tag teams in this contest.
