AJ Styles have been involved in one of the most shocking segments of this time in the WWE. It happened during the Christmas edition Smackdown Live where he punched Vince McMahon. Being a babyface superstar, he did not go to any physical altercation with The Boss, himself. Rather The Boss instigated him enough to start the heated exchange.

Vince McMahon was willing to see the real AJ Styles on Smackdown Live. He pointed out to an animal that is residing inside the former WWE Champion. It came as a random demand that was not understood by many. McMahon slapped Styles hard into the face that forced the latter one to punch him back into the mouth.

We thought that it might lead AJ Styles into some sort of repercussions going forward. It was a reported new storyline angle between The Boss and The Phenomenal One that could have a massive fallout. With Wrestlemania right around the corner, this one might have occurred to culminate big-time at the upcoming show.

But WWE never dragged this angle, going forward. Vince McMahon even appeared to moderate things between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan on Smackdown. But he never uttered a word about AJ punching him into the face. This could be due to one reason only i.e. WWE wants the fans to forget this segment by all means.

Veteran WWE superstar and Hall of Famer Bubba Rey Dudley revealed the same. He discussed the matter on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio by Bully Ray to state that WWE often stops follow-ups to something significant. This only means one thing which is to force the fans to forget about a particular topic. Here are his comments courtesy of ringsidenews.com,

“When WWE doesn’t follow up on something it normally tells me that they want us to forget about it. So I haven’t seen Vince even gently remind AJ of, ‘Don’t forget son, I know there’s an animal raging inside of there.’ We’re not getting anything from him.”

Bubba also pointed out the moderate segment on Smackdown Live on January 22nd. Vince McMahon did nothing on that night which led him saying,

“He stood in the ring with AJ Styles [this week on SmackDown Live] and they did the promo and the back-and-forth, and did that promo really get us anywhere and anything?”

The segment later ended with Daniel Bryan standing tall. He used Vince McMahon as a shield while dodging a Phenomenal Forearm and connect with a Running Knee. So the segment remained limited within the WWE Championship storyline.
