This week’s WWE NXT had WALTER featuring in the main event who also revealed his new in-ring name. The feud between the NXT Women’s Champion and his potential next challenger continued on the show while new contenders were also found for the North American Title. – LA Knight kicked things off for WWE NXT as he was looking out for Grayson Waller who attempted to take him out for good, but failed. Grayson came out and informed him about getting a restraining order against LA for assaulting him last week. Dexter Lumis made his return and took out Grayson.
WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Officially Announced From Saudi Arabia
– In the opening contest, Grayson Waller defeated Dexter Lumis with some help from his new bodyguard Saurav (former Tag Team partner of Veer Mahaan in Indus Sher). Saurav sent Lumis face-first into the ring post as Grasyon finished off the contest with The Stunner finisher.
WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2022 Full Bracket Revealed
– Creed Brothers defeated Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen to advance to the next round of WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2022 edition. Julius Creed hit Briggs with a Lariat to secure the pinfall win.
– Dante Chen vs. Guru Raaj was the next match that ended in a No Contest. Duke Hudson came out and attacked both the competitors. After putting away Chen with a powerbomb, some officials ran towards the ring to stop Hudson.
– Tony D’Angelo held a Memorial Service for Pete Dunne after last week’s win against Dunne. He stated that he has his sights on capturing WWE NXT North American Title. The champion Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams came out followed by Cameron Grimes who also wanted a shot for the Title. Carmelo proposed they face off next week and the winner can face him for the title.
WWE NXT 2.0 Results (18/01/22): Kay Lee Ray vs. Ivy Nile
– Ivy Nile defeated Kay Lee Ray after WWE NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose provided a distraction. Ivy dodged a Gory Bomb and delivered a Sunset Flip to get the pinfall win. After the match, Toxic Attraction attacked Kay Lee Ray, but Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta arrived at the ring to fend them off.
– A vignette aired that Sarray is coming back to WWE NXT 2.0 with a new look.
– Edris Enofe and Malik Blade def. Legado Del Fantasma’s Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde to advance to the next round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Santos Escobar tried to interfere, but WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker grabbed him and carried him away from the ring. Blade rolled up Wilde to get the pin to win.
– Dakota Kai defeated Yulisa Leon in the next match. Kai connected with the Scorpion Kick out of nowhere to get the pin to win.
– Cora Jade wanted Raquel Gonzalez to be her partner for WWE NXT Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. But Raquel walked away from her as she wasn’t interested.
– WALTER def. Roderick Strong in the main event of WWE NXT. WALTER planted Strong with a White Noise and followed it up with a powerbomb for the pin to win. After the match, WALTER announced that his new name is Gunther. WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner then came out and attacked Strong, which led to Creed Brothers to make the save. The six superstars continued to fight as the show went off the air.
