The Great American Bash will be returning on WWE NXT, next month. Continuing a tradition from last year, WWE has announced during last night’s TakeOver that the NXT Great American Bash will air, live on Tuesday, July 6 on the USA Network, from the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
As you can see, the gimmick will be back for a regular episode of WWE NXT in the second week of July. While the event was confirmed to make its return, no matchups or any further details were announced, for now. Unlike last year, the Great American Bash 2021 edition will be a one-night event on a Tuesday night, three weeks from now. More updates in this regard should be available on this week’s episode of NXT.

Big changes imminent to WWE NXT brand?
In more news, it seems like a big change will go down on the WWE NXT brand within the next couple of days. NXT TakeOver: In Your House featured several segments where NXT General Manager William Regal and his security team had to keep Superstars apart to stop them from brawling.
A parking lot segment before TakeOver saw The Way’s Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly argue, while Pete Dunne and WWE NXT Champion Karrion Kross brawled backstage later in the night. Regal and his security team also stopped NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai from brawling with Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon prior to the main event.
Then in the chaotic main event, Karrion Kross retained over Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne, Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole in a Fatal 5 Way. The finish saw O’Reilly passing out in the Kross Jacket submission.
After the match, McKenzie Mitchell talked with Regal, backstage who uttered the following, “It’s been 7 years since I became the GM of NXT and I’ve never seen so much bedlam. It’s complete madness. I think it’s time for a change.”

Regal then walked away from the scene as Mitchell wondered what that could mean for WWE NXT. While there’s no update on what WWE might have in store for the NXT brand, it’s likely that a new GM will soon be taking over. Fallouts from the TakeOver will be there on this Tuesday’s NXT episode on the USA Network.
