The first tag team for the 2022 Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic has been confirmed on the latest episode of WWE NXT 2.0. A qualifier match took place where Malik Blade and Edris Enofe defeated Harland and Joe Gacy via DQ to earn their spot in the upcoming tournament.
The match ended after Harland was disqualified by the referee as he kept on Blade in the corner. The referee warned him with a 5 count and then rang the match bell as Harland continued with his assault. Enofe and Blade were then confirmed for The Dusty Classic.
WWE Wrestlemania 38: Veteran Impact Wrestling Star Plans On An Appearance
As announced last week, The Men’s Dusty Classic 2022 will begin on next week’s WWE NXT episode, while the 2022 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will begin sometime in February. No update is available around the culmination of the tournament finals. But it’s likely that the tournament matches will air on NXT and WWE 205 Live, as they did in 2021.
The winners of the tournaments will receive title shots at WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Imperium while the female tourney winners will get a shot at NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Toxic Attraction. Apart from the qualifying match a Dusty Cup related backstage segment aired featuring MSK and Dakota Kai that indicated that MSK will be a part of the tournament.
New challenger revealed for WWE NXT Women’s Title
In more news from this week’s episode, we probably got a clue of the upcoming rivalry over WWE NXT Women’s Championship. The Champion Mandy Rose was absent from the actual show from the PC following her title retention over Raquel Gonzalez and Cora Jade in a Triple Threat.
But Mandy featured in several photoshoots as she bragged about Toxic Attraction. We also heard from NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin who claimed to dominate the scene.

Following this segment, Kay Lee Ray showed up to Mandy Rose’s photoshoot but the photographer said that it’s already done. KLR says Rose can show up for photoshoots, but not in title defenses. KLR then destroyed the photoshoot set using her baseball bat who also knocked off the camera off the tripod. Going by the looks, KLR is coming after the WWE NXT Women’s Title.
