NXT Gold Rush 2023 is bringing back the excitement around the fans as WWE makes attempts to make NXT the legit third brand under its wings. After the confirmation around a plethora of championship matches set for the two-week special event, two more additions were made to the card of the upcoming episode of NXT set for tonight.
WWE announced on Sunday afternoon that a new tag team match will go down on the inaugural night of NXT Gold Rush 2023. This match will see two current rival tag teams competing against each other. The lineup stands as follows — Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon vs. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson.

The ongoing program between these two teams intensified over the WWE NXT Heritage Cup, last week. Noam Dar was supposed to defend the Heritage Cup against Nathan Frazer but he came out in an admitted injured state by claiming that he was attacked by Frazer.
Oro Mensah volunteered to compete instead of Dar with Heritage Cup on the line. Legend and Jackson interfered and tried to distract Frazer from the match, but Leon and Feroz came out to neutralize the scene and set up this tag match for NXT Gold Rush 2023. Eventually, Frazer ended up winning the cup. At present, Dar, Mensah, Legend, and Jackson are part of a stable on NXT called The Meta-Four.

A previously reported pep rally for Chase U’s Thea Hail has also been confirmed by the WWE for NXT Gold Rush 2023. Two weeks ago, Thea won a big battle royal match to become the number-one contender for Tiffany Stratton’s NXT Women’s Title. This title match will go down in a week but first Duke Hudson will host a pep rally for Thea on this week’s NXT.
Other matches set for the first night of NXT Gold Rush 2023 include: NXT North American Champion Wes Lee defending against Tyler Bate, Cora Jade vs. Dana Brooke, a Triple Threat to determine the number-one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Titles. NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Baron Corbin will have a confrontation while Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Title against Bron Breakker.
