New WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned during last night’s NXT Great American Bash specials. The patriotic-themed night had an opening title match where Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade defeated Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) (with Mandy Rose) to pick up the NXT Women’s Tag Titles.
After slamming Jayne into the mat, Perex went for the pinfall but Rose pulled the referee out of the ring. In the process, Rose was ejected by the referee from the ringside area. Back in the ring, Jade rolled Jayne up. After tagging out of the match, Jade delivered a spear on Jayne while Jade planted Dolin with the Pop Rox finisher to secure the pinfall win and win WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Before losing the titles at the Bash, Dolin and Jayne had been the champions since defeating Dakota Kai and Raquel Rodriguez on the April 5 episode of WWE NXT 2.0. Their first title reign ended at the hands of Kai and Raquel at NXT Stand and Deliver but they recaptured the belts just two nights after.
Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade started their first reign on WWE NXT
As for Perez and Jade, this marks the first reign for them as the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. Just a week ago, Jade and Perez defeated Katana Chance and Kayden Carter in a Number-One Contenders match on the June 28 episode of NXT 2.0 to secure this title match against Toxic Attraction.
Roxanne Perez signed with WWE NXT this past March and immediately earned the opportunity at NXT Women’s Championship by winning the first-ever NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Perez defeated Kiana James, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton in her way to capture the win in the tourney and thereby secure a guaranteed opportunity at a title of her choosing.
It was after the tournament’s win that Perez started to form a team with Cora Jade for the past few weeks. She was in dilemma about choosing the upcoming title defense. The singles title match for the WWE NXT Women’s Title match against Mandy Rose will be happening, next week as confirmed by the WWE. Another win by her will leave The Toxic Attraction without any titles in the company.
