WWE presented the NXT Great American Bash 2023 edition, last night as a premium live event for the first time in over nine years where the top champions retained their titles. A set of new tag team titleholders were crowned on the night where a main roster superstar also successfully defended his belt. Check out the results from the show at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas,
– Kickoff Show Match: Nathan Frazer, Dragon Lee, Yulisa León, and Valentina Feroz defeated The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson) in an eight-person mixed tag team match. Lee got the pinfall win over Mensah in this match.
WWE Smackdown: Summerslam 2023 Battle Royal Set; Legend Injured
– NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The D’Angelo Family (Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo) defeated Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) (c) to become new tag champs in the opening contest of NXT Great American Bash 2023. Tony hit a powerbomb on Mark over Wolfgang. Tony also used a crowbar while the referee wasn’t watching. Tony and Lorenzo decked Wolfgang and pinned him to pick up the win.
– Weapons Wild Match: Roxanne Perez defeated Blair Davenport in a No-DQ environment. After connecting with a splash through a table, Perez hit the Pop Rox onto a stack of chairs for the three-count.
NXT Great American Bash 2023: Gable Steveson’s debut
– Gable Steveson made his in-ring debut at NXT Great American Bash 2023 against Baron Corbin and the ended in a Double Count-Out. Both men brawled after the match, with Gable standing tall after laying out Corbin with a Belly to Belly suplex through the ringside barricade.
– Lyra Valkyria was attacked by Jacy Jayn, backstage which led to a brawl. Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley enjoyed the scene while passing by.
– Triple Threat Match for the NXT North American Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) defeated Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali to retain his title at NXT Great American Bash 2023. Rhea Ripley put Wes through the announce table using the No-DQ rules. Rhea also pulled Ali out of the ring from a pinning attempt. In the end, Dom hit a Frog Splash on Wes for the pin to win.
– Submission Match for the NXT Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) defeated Thea Hail to retain her title at NXT Great American Bash 2023. As Stratton had Hail locked in into the Boston Crab Submission, Andre Chase threw in the towel for Thea to end the match as Tiffany retained.
NXT Great American Bash 2023 Main Event Match
– NXT Championship Match: Carmelo Hayes (c) defeated Ilja Dragunov to retain his title in the final match of NXT Great American Bash 2023. By the end of the match, Ilja targeted to putting down Trick Williams which allowed Hayes to flatten him and then dropping the Nothing but Net finisher for the pin to win.
