WWE NXT will come up with a brand new Takeover event, next month. WrestleMania 37 week has just got bigger with the first-ever two-night edition of the pay-per-view from the black and yellow brand. The initial builds for the top title matches have already begun as we can expect all the titles from the division to be on the line during the upcoming show in April.
WWE NXT Women’s division is often helmed as the very best due to its varieties. Only one title was available to chase for the superstars but now with the introduction of the Women’s Tag Team Titles, the stakes have become higher. The titles have already changed twice on an inaugural night and perhaps the reason behind this is another upcoming title change.

But there’s a new challenger who emerged whom she is yet to take on in a singles contest. Perhaps, this woman is being geared up to beat Shirai and take away the belt.

Raquel Gonzalez to become the next WWE NXT Women’s Champion?
During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez mentioned how he was told months ago that Raquel Gonzalez was likely to be the one to beat Io Shirai for WWE NXT Women’s Title. The reigning champion has been able to hold onto her title so far remaining successful against all the odds. But it seems that Gonzalez is finally ready to step up and dethrone Shirai from her reign.
“I don’t know who’s gonna win the title and plans change all the time in NXT. I heard months ago that Raquel is probably the one who is going to beat Io Shirai,” stated the source.
It’s hard to speculate what to expect from NXT TV given the uncertainties. But Raquel Gonzalez is indeed being built as a force to reckon with and she has already confronted the champion, teasing a potential bout.
In this past episode of WWE NXT, Kai and Gonzalez were crowned to be the first-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions but they ended up losing the belts to Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart, on the same night. Thereafter, Shirai demanded Raquel be her next opponent to tease the brand new feud over the singles title for TakeOver. The match is likely to become official within a couple of weeks.
