There’s a new ruler in HIM on NXT following the latest bygone NXT Stand and Deliver 2023 premium live event during the Wrestlemania 39 weekend. Carmelo Hayes captured the WWE NXT Championship during Saturday’s WWE PLE that aired just hours before the Night One of Wrestlemania 39.
In the main event of NXT Stand and Deliver 2023, Carmeloa Hayes defeated Bron Breakker to become the new title holder on WWE NXT’s white-and-gold brand. He picked up the win via his finisher Nothing But Net that’s the top rope leg drop for the pinfall.

Also, at the end of the match, Breakker presented Hayes with the championship and raised his hand in victory, seemingly passing the torch. With this move, it could be an indication that WWE is probably sending Breakker to the main roster soon after Wrestlemania 39, possibly for a debut on the post-Mani episode of Raw and Smackdown.

With this title win at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023, Hayes begins his first title reign as NXT Champion. He’s a former two-time WWE NXT North American Champion. He was also the last NXT superstar to hold the WWE NXT Cruiserweight Championship in April 2022.
Before dropping the title at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023, Breakker had been the NXT Champion for almost 365 days in his second reign. Breakker defeated then-champion Dolph Ziggler on the April 4, 2022 edition of Raw in the post-Mania Raw episode.
The second title run cemented his legacy as the NXT Champion since during this run, Breakker defended the title against the likes of current WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, Ilja Dragunov, JD McDonagh, Apollo Crews, Jinder Mahal, Grayson Waller, and Joe Gacy. Before this, Breakker enjoyed his first title reign from January 2022 to April 2022 that’s on last year’s Stand & Deliver.
More title changes went down at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023
The prime NXT title change wasn’t the only title change of NXT Stand and Deliver 2023. Indi Hartwell also became the new NXT Women’s Champion after defeating former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, Zoey Stark, Gigi Dolin, Lyra Valkyria, and Tiffany Stratton in a Six-Way ladder match. Also, Alba Frye and Isla Dawn became the new NXT women’s tag team champions by defeating Fallon Henley and Kiana James.
