William Regal, the general manager of WWE NXT has announced a big main event for next Tuesday’s NXT episode on the USA Network. This match will see NXT Champion Karrion Kross defending his title against Johnny Gargano in a singles contest. Regal’s associate, Samoa Joe will be serving as the special guest referee of the match that makes sense in terms of storylines.
Kross and Gargano have been involved in a feud for the past several weeks where they have beat each other down on several occasions. Samoa Joe and his security team had to separate these two, almost every time. On this week’s NXT Great American Bash 2021 special, Regal and Joe hosted a face-off segment between Kross and Gargano which was already announced for the show.
The WWE NXT Championship match was made official during this segment as Regal didn’t want them to fight at backstage areas of parking lots, anymore. Kross mentioned during this segment that he thinks of three things when he wakes up every day – never lose the NXT Title, main event WrestleMania, and one day become the WWE Champion.
