WWE was supposed to crown a new NXT Title-holder during last night’s episode. But the belt is still not possessed by any superstar after what transpired on the show. Rather, we’d see yet another match, next week to crown a new NXT Champion as the show will air on Tuesday night for a second consecutive week.
Last night’s NXT Super Tuesday Part 1 episode had the main event on the card featuring a Fatal 4 Way 60-Minute Iron Man Match for the vacant NXT Title. Adam Cole vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Finn Balor was the lineup. The match ended in a tie between where Cole and Balor both received 2 pinfalls, each.

WWE NXT Title Still Vacant; New Match Announced For Next Week
Throughout the match, each competitor was able to get 1 pinfall until Balor scored his second pin in the last few seconds after hitting a Coup de Grace on Ciampa. Cole immediately ran down and scored a pin on Balor by hitting the Last Shot. The bell was rung by the referee where Cole and Balor each scored 2 pins creating confusion by the end of the match.
Cole and Balor started arguing until the NXT General Manager William Regal ran down and stopped them from going at each other. Regal announced that next week’s NXT Super Tuesday Part 2 episode will feature a Sudden Death Battle with Balor taking on Cole, one fight to the finish for the vacant NXT Title. The winner of this match will be declared the new NXT Champion.
The night II of NXT Super Tuesday will go down from the NXT Arena on the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida which will also feature a women’s main event apart from the NXT Title bout. It will feature a Steel Cage Match between Mercedes Martinez and Rhea Ripley. Last night’s episode witnessed Rhea Ripley challenging Mercedes Martinez to a Steel Cage match. Martinez later accepted it and thus the match was confirmed for next week.

Martinez who is now a part of The Robert Stone Brand has been feuding with Ripley for several weeks now. Initially, it became with Ripley feuding with the other half of Stone’s client Aliyah. Martinez has openly said she will focus on the Women’s NXT Title and the holder Io Shirai once she’s done with Ripley, who has also had her eyes on Shirai.
NXT is airing on Tuesday this week and next week due to the NHL Playoff on USA. It will go back to Wednesday nights from the September 16 episode onwards.
