Decision of returning to WWE was easy for Cathy Kelley
Speaking about this return, the pretty face WWE interviewer quipped about how things fall in place for a new deal signing. It was an easy decision for her to return to work with Triple H and Stephanie in charge. Additionally, she also revealed how a birthday text to hunter induced things for her comeback.
“Working for them was very appealing. I think that they are both the epitome of what great leadership looks like. [Stephanie] was like, ‘Do you want to come back as a writer, do you want to come back as a liaison to the WWE community and do a lot of the events like going to different food kitchens or the boys and girls club.'”
“They made it very clear that the door was always open and then, [it] just kind of happened,” Cathy Kelley remembered on The Big Thing podcast. “I remember I just sent him a birthday text and that’s sort of what snowballed everything for me coming back.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Out of the different options kept in front of her, Cathy Kelley chose to return as a backstage interviewer for the main roster. Previously, she was utilized to be an on-screen talent on NXT but ultimately, her goal in long term was to be on Raw or Smackdown when she signed with the WWE back in 2016. Now that she’s living her dream, she’s still coping with the hectic schedule that the WWE offers to their talents.
