Vince McMahon returning on WWE Raw was the focal point of last night’s WWE Raw. We also expected major fallouts from WWE TLC event. A Gauntlet women’s division match was the main event of the night. WWE also hosted a big matchup between Finn Balor and Dolph Ziggler to hype up the night. Here’s show all of those went by on the show hosted by the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
Vince McMahon opened this week’s episode of WWE Raw. He talked about how Monday Night Raw has been running for 25 years. Stephanie, Shane McMahon and Triple H joined him into the ring to acknowledge the fact that the product of the program has not been up to the mark. So they named the fans as The Authority! All four of them will control WWE Raw from now onwards. This applies to Smackdown, too.
Baron Corbin showed up on WWE Raw wanting another chance to become the general manager. Triple H could not agree more and he announced that Corbin has to beat someone in the opening contest of the night. None other than Kurt Angle turned out to be the surprise opponent!
The match progressed as Triple H came out again and announced that it’s a Handicapped Match. Bobby Roode, Chad Gable, and Apollo Crews joined Angle into the match. Shane McMahon announced that it will be a No Disqualification match, too. All of them beat the hell out of Corbin as Kurt finished the match with an Angle Slam. He also delivered another Angle Slam through a table after the match was over.
Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler was next on WWE Raw. Balor was in control with a reverse DDT followed by a Slingblade. But Ziggler countered with his own spike DDT. Ziggler hit the Zig-zag for a near fall when Drew McIntyre showed up. McIntyre caught Finn Balor with a clothesline and Glasgow Kiss to disqualify the match. He continued punishing both with Claymore Kicks.
Dean Ambrose came to the ring surrounded by security guards. After talking a bit of trash, he called out Seth Rollins who did not come out. So he issued an IC title open challenge and Tyler Breeze accepted it. After a decent offense by the challenger, Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds to pick up the win. After the match, a disguised Seth Rollins hit a superkick on Ambrose. He took out the guards while Ambrose ran away.
Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley appeared on WWE Raw talking about hitting Elias with a guitar at WWE TLC. Lashley fell in love with that broken guitar, as per Rush. They continued to talk trash as Lashley showed his muscular body for sometimes. Elias came from the back and smashed a guitar on the shoulders of Lashley to end the segment.
A Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match was next on WWE Raw. The winners will face Bobby Roode and Chad Gable for WWE Raw tag team championships. The lineup was The Lucha House Party vs. The Revival vs. The B-Team vs. AOP. Chaos broke out inside the ring among them. The Revival was the team to hit the B-Team the Shatter Machine and pick up the win.
Ronda Rousey appeared on WWE Raw but denied to give an explanation for her actions at WWE TLC. Instead, she threw an open challenge for the women’s championship. Stephanie McMahon wanted to play fair and give every one of the locker room a chance. So she announced an 8-woman Gauntlet match. The winner will get to face Rousey for the title.
Bayley faced Alicia Fox to start off the match. Fox hit a kick to the face but Bayley rolled her up for the win. Dana Brooke was next to face Bayley who received a Bayley-to-belly to get eliminated from the match. Bayley faced Mickie James next in the matchup and hit her with a diving elbow. James grabbed the rope to stay alive in the match and followed up with a DDT for the win.
Ember Moon was up next against Mickie James on this WWE Raw main event match. Moon hit the Eclipse to eliminate James and received Natalya. Nattie had a quick win via roll-up to get Ruby Riott. Riott missed a reverse senton and Nattie rolled her up for the win. Sasha Banks was the last in this Gauntlet match. Natalya countered the Bank Statement with a German Suplex and locked in the Sharpshooter to win the entire match. Ronda Rousey celebrated with Natalya to end this week’s WWE Raw.
