WWE Raw Preview (06/09/21): Title Matches; Tag Team Turmoil
Sep 6, 2021 at 2:14 PM
A packed episode of WWE Raw is waiting this week where a number of title matches are scheduled. The 24/7 Championship and the Women’s Title will be on the line in singles competitions. Women’s tag team champions will be back in action after a couple of shows’ hiatus against fresh opponents. A huge tag team turmoil will also be on the card on the show set from the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida.
WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is sitting opponent-less, at this point after defending the belt against legendary Goldberg at Summerslam. While The Myth will still be coming after him in due course, for now, a new opponent should be in-reserve for the All-Mighty. Going by the insider reports and happenings, Randy Orton could be the one to be gunning after his title.
Last week, Team RK-Bro successfully defended WWE Raw tag team titles against Lashley and MVP in the main event. After Riddle got the pinfall win over MVP via The Floating BRO, Lashley downed him with a mammoth spear. But then Orton was waiting with his RKO move to plant the champion. This altercation must have set up the future title match while the storyline progression will continue this week.
Edge Switching Over To WWE Raw From Smackdown?
Charlotte Flair will defend her WWE RAW Women’s Title against Nia Jax, as per WWE’s confirmations. This match comes after Jax defeated Flair in a stiff non-title match, last week. Certain miscommunications between the two ended up producing a shoot fight to garner the attention of the IWC, during that match.
But the bottomline is that Jax gained a clean pinfall win over The Queen and thus she’s coming after the title, a week later. While the behemoth hasn’t held the singles title since Money in the Bank 2018, Flair is enjoying her 12th title reign as she defeated Rhea Ripley and Nikki ASH at Summerslam in a Triple Threat.

* AJ Styles and Omos
* The Viking Raiders
* Lucha House Party
* Jinder Mahal and Veer
* T-BAR and MACE
* Mustafa Ali and Mansoor
* The New Day
WWE Raw Preview (06/09/21): McIntyre vs. Sheamus
Drew McIntyre will be in action against Sheamus in a singles contest on this Monday’s WWE RAW. The winner of the match will get a title shot at WWE US Champion Damian Priest on September 26 at Extreme Rules. McIntyre and Priest competed last week in a Triple Threat Match also featuring Sheamus where the champion retained the title via pinfall win on McIntyre. The winner of the upcoming contender’s match is likely to meet Priest in a stipulated match at the late September PPV.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina will be back in tag team action on WWE Raw as they take on Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. As of this writing, this is going to be a non-title match. At present, Shotzi and Nox from Smackdown already secured a couple of wins over Nattie and Tamina to become new number-one contenders to the tag titles. But Ripley and Nikki are also having momentums on their side and a win could earn them a title match opportunity in due course.
WWE 24/7 Champion Reggie is also scheduled to defend his title against Akira Tozawa in a singles contest. For weeks, Tozawa and R-Truth have been chasing the champion to steal the belt, outside of the ring but Reggie managed to escape the scene, showing his athletic ability. Will he be able to outlast the former Cruiserweight Champion, inside the ring? We’ll find out when WWE Raw continues with the Extreme Rules builds.
