Moving on from the historic Clash at the Castle, WWE Raw is looking forward to setting things up for the 2022 Extreme Rules. They’re ready with yet another stacked episode of WWE Hall of Famer Edge being the headliner who’s booked to compete in a match against Dominik Mysterio.
Not one but two championships will be on the line where Damage CTRL gets a rematch for the women’s tag team titles. Plus, Bianca Belair will put her Raw Women’s Title on the line against an unnamed opponent. Besides, former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano will also return to in-ring competition when WWE Raw takes place at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

At Clash at the Castle, the team of Edge and Rey Mysterio defeated Damian Priest and Finn Balor in a tag team match. Once the match was over, Dominik Mysterio turned heel on both Edge and Rey and attacked them to the shock of the WWE Universe.
Last week on WWE Raw, Dominik officially joined Priest, Balor, and Ripley as the Judgment Day member and the trio pounced on Edge with an attack. It ended with the veteran picking up a serious leg injury as Balor hit his Coup De Grace move on the legs of Edge with a steel chair.
There’s uncertainty over Edge’s health after he was ambushed by Priest and Balor but Edge vs. Dominik Mysterio is being advertised for this week’s WWE Raw. With Edge working in a limited schedule in the WWE, it’s possible that WWE might use this week’s match as a way to write him off TV due to kayfabe injury reasons. Dominik’s first outing as a member of The Judgment Day should be a memorable one, after all.

WWE Raw Preview (12/09/22): Two Women’s Championships on the line
WWE Raw will feature a rematch from the final of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles tournament as Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah will defend their titles against DAMAGE CTRL’s Dakota Kai and IYO SKY.
The title bout was set up after Kai and SKY cut a promo in the ring last week, with Kai mentioning how she wasn’t the legal competitor when Alyah rolled her up for the pinfall victory. Hence, the legitimacy of Raquel and Aliyah as champions was raised.
Raquel and Aliyah defeated Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop in a non-title match, last week on WWE Raw and then the Toxic Attraction on Smackdown to have all the momentums by their side. But DAMAGE CTRL are the current top heels of the roster who would go to any extent to capture those titles as they believe to be the legit title-holders.

Speaking of DAMAGE CTRL, the leader of the faction Bayley pinned WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at Clash at the Castle and hence, she is one step ahead to get a title match opportunity. In fact, she mentioned the same, last week in a promo exchange.
WWE has never announced Bayley vs. Bianca Belair, officially, as of this writing but the promo released on the official YouTube channel has informed that the champion will defend her belt, tonight. No hint was there regarding her opponent for the title defense.
In another major attraction for this week’s WWE Raw, Johnny Gargano is set to return to the ring for the first time in nearly nine months. This comes after Austin Theory’s previous comments that Gargano is not ready to “swim with the sharks” on the main roster as he’s mostly performed on the NXT roster during his run in the WWE.
Gargano is ready to show his capability in the ring to his former protégé and hence he’ll compete against an unannounced opponent. It’s certain that Theory will get involved in this match on WWE Raw in some capacity. WWE is possibly building up a Gargano vs. Theory match to be confirmed at the Extreme Rules premium live event on October 8.
Besides all these segments, a rematch from last week’s WWE Raw will also be on the card with the lineup being The Street Profits vs. The Alpha Academy vs. The New Day vs. Los Lotharios – Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Number-One Contender’s Match. Braun Strowman’s interference ruined the match, last week but hopefully, we will get to know about The Usos’ next challengers via this bout.
