The latest coming edition of WWE Raw promises to be a stacked one where the women’s champion will have a homecoming scheduled. At the same time, she will also put her title on the line for the first time since winning the belt at Wrestlemania 38.
Interestingly, the former champion is also returning to TV for the first time since dropping the belt. An arm-wrestling contest is set to happen on the show between two gigantic superstars while there will also be a celebration for legendary Randy Orton on the show that emanates from the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.
WWE Raw Superstar Becky Lynch Named Game Changer Female Of 21st Century
The potential headliner for this week’s WWE Raw has been announced and it will feature the hometown star Bianca Belair defending her red brand women’s title against Sonya Deville.
Following Wrestlemania 38, the WWE Official revealed herself to be Belair’s new challenger with a vicious beatdown. Thereafter, the match had been rumored to take place at WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 but it’s been preponed to this week. This should also end up becoming the main event of the show given the hometown favorite Belair will be in it.
Also, the host arena of WWE Raw has announced that there will be a special homecoming for the EST of the WWE, this week. As noted above, Belair won the title from Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 38 and this is going to be her first title defense since then.
Top WWE Raw Superstar Moving To Title Picture After Heel Turn?
Speaking of Becky Lynch, this episode of WWE Raw will mark her first appearance since dropping the RAW Women’s Title to Bianca Belair at the Show of Shows. There’s no update available on what WWE has planned for Big Time Becks, moving forward. There are speculations that she will immediately enter the chase for the title but there’s no confirmed update on the situation. Since after Wrestlemania 38, Lynch has worked a few live events and had failed attempts in regaining the title.
On a related note, there are imminent plans for Asuka to return to WWE RAW, according to Fightful Select. The source informed that the plan is for Asuka to enter a “short-term program” with Becky Lynch. Things could begin as soon as this week in this program, marking a dual return on the show. As of this writing, it seems to be wild speculation.
WWE Raw Preview (25/04/22): Arm-Wrestling Contest
This week’s WWE Raw will also feature Omos vs. Bobby Lashley in an Arm-Wrestling contest. Lashley handed over the first singles loss of Omos’ career at WrestleMania 38. Then, MVP turned on Lashley during the RAW After WrestleMania and formed an alliance with Omos ever since. Then last week, MVP announced that Omos wants to challenge Lashley to a test of strength, in the form of an arm-wrestling match to insinuate the bout.
As a special attraction, a 20th Anniversary Celebration for WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Randy Orton has also been announced. WWE has been celebrating #OrtonWeek in honor of the major 20-year milestone of his career. April 25 will mark the exact 20 years since The Viper made his official WWE TV debut on April 5, 2002, SmackDown episode which was a win over Hardcore Holly.
Orton and Riddle are currently scheduled to face SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos in a Winners Take All Title Unification Match at WrestleMania Backlash on May 8 and hence, the storyline around this match should also unfold, tonight.
