WWE Women’s Evolution is in full force and Rhea Ripley is one of the flag-bearers of the tradition. Coming off the NXT roster, she has been built as a super force to be reckoned with who should be the poster figure of the WWE Women’s Division for a long time. After a dud state over the last couple of years, the scenario around them changed after Triple H took charge of the creative team in 2022 summer.
Sports Media with Richard Deitsch recently spoke with Rhea Ripley about the present state of the women’s division and she noted that it has been “wonderful to see how far the women’s division has come.” Coming off the Lingerie Matches or Pillow Fights to the main event of WrestleMania was a long course and it wasn’t easy, for sure.

Rhea Ripley herself has been a big part of the process from a point when she was in NXT and was yet to arrive on the mainstay scene. She is the only woman to have defended the NXT Women’s Championship at the biggest event of the year. Despite all the accomplishments, the Australian Superstar doesn’t forget to credit her predecessors for paving the way for the new generation.
“We’ve all just been fighting for so many years to get the opportunities, and to get the spotlight that we actually deserve and it’s been really, really cool to see how far it has come,” Rhea Ripley said. “We are selling most of the merch … they want to see us absolutely kill it. A lot of the time I feel like we go harder than the men as well, we are going out there and we are trying to prove a point.”

Rhea Ripley got the chance to square off with the male superstars in WWE
Apart from dominating the women’s division for good, Rhea Ripley has also been getting the rare opportunity to compete against some of the male wrestlers of the WWE. Whether it’s competing against Akira Tozawa or bodyslamming Luke Gallows or even attacking WWE Hall of Famer Edge, she did it all in recent times which is considered another big step for the female roster.
Rhea Ripley also commented on getting to punch legends like Rey Mysterio and Edge as given below,
“Now me, as a female, I get to go out there and punch them in the face. It’s just so cool to see how far we’ve all come and I’m so excited to see what the future holds because it’s just going to go up and beyond from here.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Rhea Ripley also had another accolade in her WWE career and that’s to win the Raw Women’s Championship in her first WrestleMania match as part of the main roster. This was also her first match on the mainstay scene where she defeated veteran Asuka at WrestleMania 37 to elevate herself to the next level.
