With Roman Reigns capturing both the world title belts since Wrestlemania 38, the absence of a top champion is felt on WWE Raw. There has been a long demand for either splitting the two titles or introducing a new championship belt to have a marquee superstar on the flagship brand of the WWE but no such move was taken in the bygone year.
WWE wants to keep undisputed world title belt intact
With the New Year beginning and Wrestlemania 39 season almost kicking off, could we be up for seeing a new world championship on the WWE Raw brand? The recent speculations from the rumor mill do suggest that WWE has such plans. Only time will tell whether or not those plans will see daylight.

New belt considered for WWE Raw brand
In an update from the Wrestling Observer, it was stated that the current Undisputed Title is not likely to be split and Reigns might just not lose that belt, anytime soon. Rather, WWE Officials have begun discussing the idea of introducing another Men’s World Championship, possibly for the WWE Raw brand,
“There remains a lot of talk of creating a second title for RAW (or SmackDown if they switch brands with Reigns or if someone beats Reigns) in 2023.”
Fans have their fair share of opinions regarding how WWE has been using their top championship belts in recent times with only one champion ruling the brands. This is the sole reason that there has been a healthy amount of brand crossover in recent months with Reigns appearing with both belts on both WWE Raw and SmackDown while The Usos are also appearing with the red and blue strapped tag team title belts.
Roman Reigns is the top champion since 2020 summer
As noted above, Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship by defeating The Fiend Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat Match WWE Payback 2020 in August of that year. Reigns then won the WWE Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar on April 3, 2022, in the main event of WrestleMania 38 – Night 2, to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Since he is a listed member of SmackDown, WWE Raw is left without a Men’s World Champion.
