Recently, Seth Rollins lost his Intercontinental Championship on WWE Raw event. It happened all of a sudden during this past edition of the show. WWE Universe expected this to happen the least. But that turned out to be a reality when Dolph Ziggler pinned him clean with a simple roll-up. And in such a way, a glorious reign came to an end with this.
Now, most of the fans expected Rollins to have a longer title reign on the flagship show. Brock Lesnar is out of the scene for a long time. He is not coming back until the Summerslam PPV event season picks up. So, the Intercontinental Champion was giving the proxy for the prime title.
We doubt whether Ziggler can keep the prestige same of the IC title. Furthermore, this title was the most valid reason why Monday Night Raw converted into Monday Night Rollins. He took over the damn show on a weekly basis even after the presence of star Roman Reigns.
There are some serious doubts about whether The Architect can get back his status after this loss. However, the rumour mill does suggest positive things in-store for him in the near future.
In the hindsight, the probable reason behind WWE officials taking the title away from him is something positive. He might be heading into the main event picture soon.
A report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter already suggested that anyone from Reigns or Rollins will challenge Lesnar at Summerslam.
In particular, the chances are better with the latter mentioned one since he is ‘over’ with the fans. He deserves a Universal Championship opportunity after carrying the flagship brand for a long time.
Kurt Angle already announced a multi-man match at Extreme Rules PPV event. The winner of this contest will eventually become the new number one contender for the Universal Championship.
Seth Rollins is most likely to be a part of this. We should not be surprised if he emerges as a winner.
The Architect is getting his rematch against Ziggler on the next episode of WWE Raw. He has invoked the rematch clause to get back the title that belonged to him.
However, if the above reports are any indications then he is not winning back the title. A bigger spotlight is waiting for him.
