For the past couple of months, the comeback of Rey Mysterio is a matter of speculation for the WWE fans. This started after the Royal Rumble PPV event where he made a one-off appearance much to the delight of the crowd. He received a thunderous reaction from the audience like no one else.

Even the video posted on Youtube by WWE showcasing the returning moments of Rey Mysterio received the maximum number of hits.

It surpassed the other path-breaking moments from the historic night that took place on January 28th in Philadelphia. So, the officials started talking with him for a contract signing.

Apparently, the talks were going in a positive direction when a setback happened to prohibit Rey Mysterio from confirming a deal.

While working in an independent show, he tweaked his shoulder which came at a bad time. He was not only scheduled for a WWE signing but also an appearance in the New Japan Pro-wrestling promotion.

In the show hosted by the Japan promotion, the high-flying superstar was about to compete in a match against another Masked Luchador. But, this sudden concussion spoiled that match.

This came just prior to the show which is why the company heads made an appearance with him to declare that he will compete under NJPW banner, in the future.

Meanwhile, with Wrestlemania season coming up, the speculations are running rampant whether the former WWE Champion can make it to the event on April 8th or not. If he can get medically cleared within that span, there are certain chances that the officials want him back onboard.

To note on the situation, the man in concern talked with NoDQ.com.

While speaking about the same, Rey Mysterio kept us on our toes saying that a return might be in-store, at any moment.

Check out his quotes, “Unfortunately, I just suffered a torn bicep three weeks ago. Opted not to get surgery. It’s a full tear but I’m just gonna kick back, do some therapy for it and hopefully I’ll be ready next month.”

Whether at this year’s Wrestlemania or not, WWE will certainly look forward to bring the high-flying superstar under their wing. This might give us a dream match at next year’s ‘show of shows’ in New York, New Jersey against AJ Styles.

The masked superstar Rey Mysterio has been very vocal about it which should happen if a contract signing comes to fruition.
