Royal Rumble 2023 will be the first WWE premium live event in the WWE schedule after WWE canceled their Day 1 PLE on New Year’s Day. Thus the Road to Wrestlemania 39 will kick off with the Rumble event set from The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, January 28th, 2023. Tickets have been selling well for the event and WWE is even looking forward to shattering past records with it.
Besides, recent reports suggest that the format of the headliner Rumble matches could go through major changes at Royal Rumble 2023. WWE introduced the Men’s Rumble match in 1988 and this annual matchup went on to become one of the most exciting matches in WWE history.

Royal Rumble to have 40 participants in the Rumble match?
In 2018, WWE introduced the Royal Rumble match for their women’s wrestlers, as well. In both versions, 30 wrestlers generally participate to pick one of the headliner names of Wrestlemania. “There are some talks within WWE that the company may look at doing a 40 Man and 40 Women Rumble. This is a very early pitch but one that has picked up a lot of steam backstage in the past week or two. This however is not confirmed yet.”

In more news for Royal Rumble 2023, WWE’s co-CEO Nick Khan revealed during the Q3 earnings call that they have already made $4.6 million from the PLE’s sold tickets.
According to the reports from Wrestling Observer, this is the second biggest advance in the history of the Royal Rumble event. Going by the current ticket moving, the Royal Rumble 2023 event is going to end up drawing the highest revenue from tickets in the history of this event,
“The Rumble’s got a $4.6 million advance, which is the second biggest of all time for a Rumble, and they’ve still got another 3 months to sell tickets, November, December, and January. So it’ll be the biggest ever.”
