The rumours of Bobby Lashley coming to the WWE was running rampant for a long time now. Before the Royal Rumble PPV, he left the Impact Wrestling promotion after bidding adieu to the long-time employer. Ever since he left the WWE in the last decade, the most of the time was spent by him at the rival brand of the company.
But, according to the rumours, he is a free agent starting from February. It was also guessed whether he makes a comeback to the WWE in time for Wrestlemania. But, at this time, it does not seem likely. However, the recent reports do suggest something positive about this bonafide heel of the Impact promotion coming home, sooner.
According to the reports from Brad Shepard of BodySlam.net, WWE has recently reached a deal with the former WWE superstar. Apparently, he accepted the contract offered to him and both the parties are quite happy with it. Hence, a return seems imminent. We might have to wait for sometimes before it happens on WWE TV.

Bobby Lashley never reached to the main event spotlight in the WWE despite having all the tools. He was reserved for the mid-card title slot which is why he managed to become only two-time ECW and United States Championships. Hopefully, this time around, if he does come back, the creative team will use him in bigger capacities.
Stillrealtous.com hinted further about the debut timespan of this former WWE employee,
“Bobby Lashley is another story entirely because he is free to do whatever he wants and is just waiting for a call from WWE. The belief is Lashley will be coming home to WWE, and hopefully, this time his run will have a better outcome. Lashley’s return seems more like a Raw After WrestleMania kind of thing. But Vince McMahon can do whatever he wants because it’s still his show.”

At this point, the storyline angles around Wrestlemania have already been kicked off. Hence, it is not likely that he will be inserted into the mix, all of a sudden. Rather, he can be used in a better capacity during the post-Wrestlemania season. He can be valuable while making up the need for a monstrous heel, in case Brock Lesnar exits WWE.
