WWE Rumor: Injured Superstar To Return On Tonight’s Smackdown Live 1
courtesy WWE

It looks like we are going to have a major twist on tonight’s episode of Smackdown Live on tonight. A huge Gauntlet Match is all set to be the main event of the night which might get changed. Mustafa Ali among the lineup is injured from last week and may not compete at Elimination Chamber. So he will not compete in tonight’s Gauntlet, at all. So there will be a suitable replacement on Smackdown Live.

Courtesy of a reliable source, we have received a major spoiler on a returning superstar on Smackdown Live. The assumption is that he could be added to the Elimination Chamber lineup following tonight. The superstar in concern is Luke Harper from the Bludgeon Brothers faction. His brother Rowan returned at Royal Rumble siding himself with the WWE Champion.

Now it might be his turn to come back on board and enter the WWE Championship picture, right away. PWInsider.com reported that Luke Harper is set to appear on SmackDown Live in Toledo, Ohio from the Huntington Center. With Mustafa Ali missing from actions, he should turn out to be a suitable replacement for the high-flying action. Or else, he might join the group formed by Daniel Bryan and Rowan.

Meanwhile, Fightful.com reported that the following around the injury of Mustafa Ali,

“Ali had been working through an injured tailbone that got hurt again at WWE’s Royal Rumble show. Last week on Smackdown live, Ali’s eye was swollen shut after sitting up into Randy Orton’s boot on the Garvin Stomp. We’re told that an injury was accelerated on Sunday night’s live event and that he’s likely not to be cleared for action all week long.”

Luke Harper himself was dealing with a nasty injury for weeks in the past. We have not seen him or Eric Rowan since Summerslam 2018 passed by. Harper had to undergo a surgery which sidelined him from in-ring competition for a long time. He was back in the WWE performance center, recently hinting that the doctors have medically cleared him to compete.

So we can expect Luke Harper on TV i.e. on tonight’s episode of Smackdown Live. However, the above-mentioned booking of Harper could be for a dark match, as well. In this case, he will be there on the show to compete in a non-televised match.
