Ever since Roman Reigns got suspended for WWE’s wellness policy violation, he was pushed back to the mid-card level. For a wider span of last year and this year’s beginning, we saw him in the WWE title picture but the scenario changed after he received tremendous fan backlash due to the unexpected suspension incident in June.
However, he’s now back in the WWE Universal Championship picture again. At the Roadblock PPV, he’ll face the reigning champion Kevin Owens to win back the coveted gold.
A recent report from allwrestlings.com said the WWE creative is pitching the idea of making him a dual champion at the last PPV of the year. He already has the US title on one shoulder. Now, he’ll have the Universal title on his other shoulder as well. After the Hell in a Cell PPV, Roman Reigns himself hinted the same on the Raw Talk show.
Apparently, this would be done to portray him as the strongest man present in the WWE. The condition will be similar to that of Conor McGregor becoming the dual champion in the UFC. Despite all the negative reactions he gets every week, Vince McMahon still considers him as the face of the Raw brand and hence a big push might be in store for him prior to the Wrestlemania season.

Roman Reigns will not be the only one to hold two titles at the same time. Previously, Seth Rollins achieved the same in Summerslam 2015. He defeated John Cena to hold both the US and WWE titles on the same night.
If Roman indeed becomes a dual champion then he is supposed to drop the US title after some days. Either Jericho or Braun Strowman will win it from him. Also, Reigns might feature in the Universal championship match at Wrestlemania for the third consecutive year.
