Since the year 2010 when Undertaker competed in the Wrestlemania 26 match against Shawn Michaels, Undertaker turned into a part-time employee in the WWE. He quitted as a full-time performer and mostly was seen during the Wrestlemania season.
We have seen him last in the match against Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania 32. Earlier reports suggested that he was pissed off with the fact that Vince McMahon told him to digest a loss against Shane in the match. Though he came out victorious in the match he was heard telling backstage people that he is not willing to continue anymore.
However, Undertaker had a conversation with the pro-wrestling sheet in which he confirmed that he is not done, yet. The quotes from him are as following.
“Honestly, I love it, that’s why. I’ve got 26 years in the business and all these injuries, but WrestleMania has become so huge, it’s just hard to walk away from it. I want the audience leaving the stadium going ‘Wow!’ It’s a responsibility I have being a top dog in this business. The crowd will let me know when it’s time to leave. They haven’t yet…And if I didn’t perform at WrestleMania, in some strange weird way, I’d feel like I was letting Vince McMahon down. I’ve been in the WWE for so long, and he’s done so much for me.
[Away from the ring] I spend a lot of time with my family, my children. I also work on my horrible golf game. I love golf, but I’m awful. For some reason, I go out there and make myself miserable because I’m so bad at it. But most of my time is spent healing up … so I can be the Undertaker again.”
It is rumored that he will have his last match at next year’s Wrestlemania against John Cena. But, latest speculations suggest that he is set to make a special appearance at the 29th annual Summerslam on Sunday. The capacity of his appearance is not disclosed. However, he is rumored to join the Smackdown Live brand after return.
