The rumor mill is buzzing about TNA’s handover since last week before the Bound for Glory PPV. TNA show-runners Billy Corgan and Dixie carter have confirmed previously that WWE was in the race from the beginning. Now rumors surface on the internet saying that WWE has indeed purchased the precious TNA video library that they were looking for.
Previous reports already suggested that Vince McMahon was not interested in taking over the entire TNA. He is least interested in TNA talents. But, the video library would hand him more profit since he could have channeled it to the 24/7 WWE Network.
The library consists of some illustrious careers of now WWE superstars like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries etc. It even has the collection of former WWE employees like the Hardy Boys, Bobby Lashley or the Dudleys. In addition, there is a number of Hall of Famers who have worked with TNA, previously like Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair or the icon, Sting. WWE can make more money to broadcast these contents on demand.
Wrestlezone.com suggests that WWE has already purchased the exclusive video library of TNA which also means that WWE has already taken over the company and there is no brand known as the TNA wrestling promotion.
The current TNA president, Billy Corgan will still hold the majority of the TNA shares. But, he is unable to clear all the debts that TNA still owes to the producers. Vince McMahon is able to free them from the liabilities. However, he is not willing to run TNA as a separate franchise if the buy indeed happens. He will handpick some superstars to retain to the WWE main roster or the NXT. This is the main reason, why both Dixie and Corgan is not willing to sell their company to WWE.
However, Inquisitr.com reported the same too stating that TNA’s top names will not continue with the company once their contract expires at the beginning of next year. So, we can expect some of the names will jump ship to WWE, for sure.
