We are just a couple of days away from Hell in a Cell 2022 but surprisingly WWE Smackdown is yet to announce any match for the event from their side. While nothing specifically has been confirmed for the show, we assume at least a couple of matches would be announced for the upcoming PPV event. Plus, an injured superstar will return with a changed gimmick on the June 3rd episode that takes place at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Two weeks ago, The Usos, Jimmy, and Jey defeated Team RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) to become the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions on WWE Smackdown. They have taken out Orton after that match with a vicious attack, forcing Riddle to find a new tag partner in Shinsuke Nakamura. The assumption is that the tag champs may defend their recently won championships against these two.

It should be noted that Nakamura’s original tag team partner, Rick Boogs has also been shelved due to injuries caused by The Usos. On this week’s episode of Raw, The Usos intentionally got themselves disqualified by using a steel chair in the championship contender’s match.

So it wasn’t confirmed whether the challengers become the new contenders but due to the No-DQ outcome, Riddle and Nakamura have now been confirmed to reappear on WWE Smackdown, making their intentions clear that they would still be coming after the tag titles. So the title match could be announced for Hell in a Cell 2022, after all.

During the May 16 episode of WWE Raw, Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out after they weren’t happy with their booking. The pair preferred a Women’s Tag Team Championship match with Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. at Hell in a Cell. But WWE instead booked them to lose to Ronda Rousey and Bianca Belair, respectively for WWE Smackdown and Raw Women’s Titles.

With Banks and Naomi still absent from the scene, WWE had to start from scratch for a championship defense for Ronda Rousey at Hell in a Cell 2022. The fate of the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship is still up in the air, according to Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It will be interesting to see which talent finally gets the shot to the title held by the Baddest Woman on the Planet.

Madcap Moss is confirmed to make his return to WWE SmackDown, this week but with a brand new gimmick. After missing two episodes of SmackDown to sell injuries from an attack by Happy Corbin on the May 13 episode, Moss announced his return, last week via social media. WWE later confirmed the same during the live telecast of SmackDown, last week.

A gimmick change for Madcap Moss has been rumored for a long time and it appears that it will finally happen on TV to set up a rematch between Moss and Corbin at Hell in a Cell. Earlier this month, Corbin brutally attacked Moss with a steel chair and destroyed the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy that Moss won on the April 1 episode of WWE SmackDown.
