WWE Smackdown Preview (04/06/21): Usos vs Mysterios; IC Title Match

WWE Smackdown is yet to begin the builds for Hell in a Cell while the storytelling remains compact in comparison to Monday Night Raw. Another packed edition of the show is expected, this week where two major title matches will go down. First, The Mysterios will defend their tag team titles against veteran Usos. Also, Kevin Owens will receive a singles shot to the Intercontinental Title when the show airs from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.

Last week, The Usos returned to action as a tag team after a gap of over a year on Smackdown. They defeated The Street Profits in one hell of a match that tore the house down. Jimmy then asked WWE Official Adam Pearce for a shot at the tag team titles after their winning efforts, and he was granted that wish.

Major Match For Roman Reigns Canceled At WWE Hell In A Cell 2021

Rey and Dominik Mysterio successfully retained the Smackdown tag team titles against The Dirty Dawgs – Dolph Ziggler and Rey Mysterio. Now they will have to put their titles on the line against multi-time former world tag champs who are out to prove that they are the best tag teams that WWE has ever seen. That being said, Mysterios’ title run is in sheer jeopardy by all means.

Jey Uso, meanwhile, is being played against his brother by his cousin and reigning Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The latter doesn’t like the idea that Jimmy is willing to go after the tag team titles with Jey. Although Roman isn’t happy with Jey participating in the coming title match, he will be competing in it, anyway. It seems the Tribal Chief will closely be watching the tag team title bout on Smackdown.

WWE Smackdown Preview (04/06/21): Kevin Owens vs Apollo Crews

WWE Smackdown Preview (04/06/21): Usos vs Mysterios; IC Title Match 2

Kevin Owens competed against Apollo Crews, last week who was on the verge of a non-title win after hitting a Stunner. Commander Azeez was observing the match from ringside who ran down and nailed Owens with a cheap shot on the throat. Thus the match was disqualified while Owens also had troubles with his throat, once the match was over.

As a result of what went down during the non-title match, Adam Pearce announced that Kevin Owens will be getting his crack at the Intercontinental championship against Apollo Crews in a singles contest on this week’s Smackdown. After his actions, Commander Azeez will be banned from ringside. This does give Owens a golden opportunity to snatch the IC Title from Crews unless Sami Zayn decides to interfere continuing his issues with Owens.

Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair continues her feud with Bayley despite pinfall retention over the challenger at Wrestlemania Backlash. The storyline suggests that Belair used her ponytail to steal a win from Bayley who is now asking for a rematch over the title. A fearless Belair has already been proven to be a fighting champion and it’s only a matter of time that the rematch will be made official, perhaps for Hell in a Cell PPV.
