SummerSlam 2022 go-home episode of WWE SmackDown will be presented, tonight where the builds for the next premium live event will also be kicked off. In the main event of the show, the new challenger for the Universal Title will be revealed as the two long-term rivals will collide in a slugfest.
The recently turned heel Lacey Evans will be seen in action against the woman whom she’s been belittling for the past few weeks. The New Day will also compete against their current rivals, The Viking Raiders. Also, Maxxine Dupri and her associates will present the summer collection on WWE SmackDown that takes place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

A high-voltage match has been confirmed for the July 29 episode of WWE SmackDown where Drew McIntyre will face Sheamus in a first-ever Shillelagh Match. The match is also being billed as an Irish Donnybrook Match where the winner will challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, September 3.
The number-one contender’s match was made official during a segment on last Friday’s WWE SmackDown where the two superstars had a confrontation inside the squared circle. Sheamus referred to the match as an Irish Donnybrook Match that won’t have any count-outs or disqualifications. Furthermore, the stipulation also calls for McIntyre’s sword Angela to be barred from ringside. This is likely to be a highly physical match between the two UK natives.
Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam, tomorrow night in a Last Man Standing match against Brock Lesnar. There were some doubts surrounding the match after Lesnar reportedly walked out of last week’s WWE SmackDown. But then he made a shocking appearance to end the show and thereby hint that the match is still on.

One more match is set for WWE SmackDown where The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston will compete against The Viking Raiders – Erik and Ivar. This non-title tag team bout comes after the Vikings returned with a vicious attitude to target the resident babyface duo of the WWE with a couple of attacks.
Then The New Day appeared as guest commentators on last week’s WWE SmackDown during The Viking Raiders’ match against Jinder Mahal and Shanky. The Vikings again attacked The New Day by throwing Jinder Mahal on top of them. In the process, they ended up winning the match via count-out.
WWE SmackDown Preview (29/07/22): Lacey Evans vs. Aliyah
For the past couple of weeks, Lacey Evans has been promoted to be back in action in either a tag team or singles contest but the match never happened. Now, it seems the newly turned heel superstar will finally take on Aliyah, as per the currently promoted card for WWE’s blue brand show.
As previously mentioned, this match was supposed to happen last week but Evans was busy cutting a promo, followed by a Knockout punch to Aliyah to garner a ton of heel heat from the fans in attendance. If the match goes down, tonight then it will be Aliyah’s first televised match on TV in over a month after the June 3 edition of WWE SmackDown where she lost a Number-one Contender’s Six Pack Challenge to Natalya. On the flip side, Evans last competed earlier this month at the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match in the titular event.
On the July 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, Maxxine Dupri made her arrival on the main roster in a brief backstage segment, where she introduced herself as the Director of Talent for Maximum Male Models agency. The kayfabe sister of the former director, Max Dupri has hyped up their next presentation and that’s unveiling the 2022 beachwear collection, this week.
It should be noted that the announcement came after reports stated that Max Dupri has been written out of the storyline due to creative differences and got replaced with Maxxine who used to be known as Sofia Cromwell on NXT. She formed an alliance with Von Wagner but wrestled in a match. Now, she’s again been assigned to play a managerial role on WWE SmackDown for the repackaged ma.çé and mån.sôör.
