WWE Smackdown will be airing on FS1 next week which guarantees the show to have less number of viewers. But the efforts to keep the numbers up as much as possible have already begun given that the top attraction on WWE TV is confirmed to appear. After a week’s break, Roman Reigns will be present on his Island of Relevancy to set things up for his next championship defense.

During last week’s closing segments on WWE Smackdown, Jey Uso made things clear that he’s not here to replace Roman Reigns, but he is here to take the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from him. That match is likely to headline Summerslam 2023 and things should be made official between these two Bloodline members, next week.

As announced by the WWE, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso two will meet face-to-face “to discuss the rules of engagement,” of their upcoming bout, according to the special counsel to The Tribal Chief, Paul Heyman. This will be a fallout from what transpired during last week’s WWE Smackdown.

A tribal court segment went down featuring The Bloodline members on the July 7 edition of WWE Smackdown from the Madison Square Garden Arena. Jimmy Uso took a brutal beatdown in that segment as part of the assault from Roman Reigns. It was after that match that Jey Uso laid out the challenge to Roman Reigns for a match at SummerSlam, but now it’s confirmed that Jimmy Uso may not make it to the show due to the assault.

WWE Smackdown: Jimmy Uso is out of action with an injury

During WWE SmackDown this week, Michael Cole announced that Jimmy Uso suffered ruptured rib cartilage, and he will be out of action for the “foreseeable future.” There’s no update on when his return will happen. But then again, Summerslam will be the perfect place for him to show up and help his twin brother against Roman Reigns.

Meanwhile, Jey Uso was present on this week’s WWE Smackdown who delivered yet another passionate message to Roman Reigns. After announcing that all his respect for the latter is gone, Paul Heyman appeared with Solo Sikoa and blamed Jey for all the mishaps and especially the beatdown that Jimmy Uso took last week. Sikoa tried to intervene only to receive a series of chair shots and superkicks to end the segment.
