This week’s WWE Smackdown marked the first night with WWE fans in attendance on a Friday Night since the COVID-19 pandemic. The night had a Fatal-4-Way main event match on the card where the 2021 MITB Ladder Match competitors participated (Seth Rollins vs. Big E vs. King Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens) in a No-DQ affair.

After Seth Rollins pulled off the win, the TV taping ended with him sitting on top of a ladder hoisting the Money in the Bank briefcase. But that was not the end of the show for the live fans in attendance o Smackdown from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

After Smackdown went off the air on FOX, Rollins grabbed a microphone and addressed the crowd at the arena. He claimed to be “the future and forever Mr. Money in the Bank” by winning the MITB briefcase for the second time in his career this Sunday.

Kevin Owens then asked Rollins to come down the ladder so they can shake hands. After Rollins refused, a bunch of Superstars like Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Apollo Crews, Commander Azeez, Finn Balor, King Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro came out to participate in an impromptu battle royal.

A couple of videos were released on Twitter by the fans in attendance where we saw that Big E won the Battle Royal by last eliminating Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews. Big E then addressed the crowd with a promo by thanking the crowd. “Each and every one of you were incredible. Thank you for your energy,” Big E said.

WWE Smackdown commentator Pat McAfee also addressed the crowd and received a lot of pops during a post-show segment. Apparently, he has become quite a popular figure for the WWE Universe in a short amount of time.
