WWE Smackdown spoilers: July 14th, 2016 1

This will be the last Smackdown that will go on air as the taped version. The show was taped in Grand Rapids, Michigan and kicked off with the in-ring competition between Sasha Banks and Dana Brooke as demanded by Women’s champion Charlotte on Raw.

Sasha Banks def. Dana Brooke

The boss walked out of the contest clearly after locking in the Bank Statement on Dana Brooke. With these consecutive victories, Sasha is clearly heading for her one-on-one match against Charlotte. Fans would love to see her as champion and it is going to take place at Summerslam, probably.

Dolph Ziggler def. Rusev

Zack Ryder was present at commentary, who caused the distraction for Rusev and Ziggler took full advantage to pin the champion with a roll-up. Ryder and Rusev will probably meet for the championship at Battleground whereas Ziggler is clueless as always.

AJ Styles-Karl Anderson def. Enzo and Cass

Styles locked his pendant calf crusher to Enzo to ensure the win for his team. WWE Universe does not like to see Enzo and Cass losing the contest but at the same time, Styles and Co. need some win to look even stronger during the brand split.

Zack Ryder def. Alberto Del Rio

It’s awful to see Del Rio losing to Ryder but WWE has no choice but t give Ryder some momentum before the Battleground championship match. Del Rio went for his double stomp which was countered by Ryder to connect with the Rough Ryder. Rusev came down to the ring after the match but Ryder dodged his superkick and thwarted him with his own dropkick.

Tyler Breeze def. Kalisto

Breezango is working pretty good as a team. This time too, Fandango provided the distraction for his partner and Breeze got a sudden victory with a super kick.

Miz TV with Darren Young and Bob Backlund

The new number one contender with his life coach was The Miz’s guest on Smackdown. The Miz asked Darren if he was nervous to face the Miz. After some bragging from The Miz, Backlund locked the Intercontinental champion in his Crossface Chickenwing but Maryse helped his husband to let go.

Charlotte announced that she alongside her protégé will face Sasha and a partner chosen by her at the Battleground pay-per-view.

Dean Ambrose def. Kevin Owens

It was the same old match up seen thousand times before. Seth Rollins interference to make the match disqualified. When it looked a two-on-one mugging was about to start, Sami Zayn made the save.

Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose

The happenings turned the match into a tag team contest in the main event of Smackdown. Owens distracted Zayn in between the match which helped Rollins to connect with the pedigree for the win. After the match, the WWE Champion connected with the Dirty Deeds to put Rollins down and end the era of non-live Smackdown, as of now.
