WWE Friday Night Smackdown Full Results: December 20, 2019
The post-TLC edition of WWE SmackDown had a Miracle on the 34th Street Fight on the card. Braun Strowman returned on the show to save the tag champs. Sasha Banks and Bayley featured in separate matches.
Also, a big tag team match was in the main event of the show that took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
SmackDown opened with Daniel Bryan leading the YES chants while heading to the ring. He noted the recent changes in his character. The Miz joined him in the ring to talk about how The Fiend affected their life.
King Corbin interrupted them claiming these two as failures in the name of fathers. Dolph Ziggler took out Bryan from the back and Superkicked Miz. He then shoved Bryan into an End of Days from Corbin.
A Miracle on 34th Street Fight was next on SmackDown with the lineup of Heavy Machinery vs. The Revival. Before the match started, Mandy Rose gifted Otis a Christmas Ham.
Dawson destroyed it during the match, making Otis furious. Otis scooped Dawson and slammed him on top of the Legos. He followed with a Caterpillar and then hit a Compactor for the win.
Elias insulted The Revival in a backstage segment on SmackDown. Braun Strowman appeared on TV to confront Sami Zayn and wanted a IC title shot at Nakamura.
Carmella competed in the next matchup on SmackDown against Sonya Deville. Deville hit a Sliding Knee to take early control of the match. Carmella countered with a Superkick.
She landed several kicks on Deville before dropping her face with a Flatliner. The Code of Silence submission was locked in to give the victory to Carmella.
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day competed against Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro in a tag team contest. Cesaro was in control with his pendant swing and went for the Neutralizer.
But Kofi dodged it and rolled up Cesaro for the win. After the match, the heel team attacked Kofi in the ring. Braun Strowman came out and ran over all of them making the save.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Dana Brooke was the next matchup. Bayley took control hitting sliding clotheslines on Dana who countered with a big Senton. Dana hit a Handspring Elbow but missed a Powerbomb and hit the corner. Bayley hit the Bayley-to-belly to get the win.
Lacey Evans came out and challenged Sasha Banks to a match to set up the next match on SmackDown. Evans hit a big boot on Banks before sending her face-first into the mat. Bayley distracted Evans as Banks continued a beatdown on her leading the match to a double count-out.
Banks continued to taunt Evans’ daughter sitting at ringside. A furious Evans launched Banks into the barrier to hurt her.
The main event of SmackDown featured Daniel Bryan and The Miz vs. King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler after what went down on the opening segment. Miz kicked Ziggler’s knee and nailed him with the DDT.
Corbin tried to interfere but received a Skull Crushing Finale, instead. Miz blocked a Superkick from Ziggler and applied the Figure-Four. Corbin tried to interfere but received a Running Knee from Bryan.
Ziggler tapped out to the submission move to give the win to the babyfaces to close the show.
