John Cena vs. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has been officially announced for WWE SummerSlam 2021. Originally, WWE had announced a SummerSlam contract signing for SmackDown, with Finn Balor possibly challenging Reigns. This segment was announced as a fallout of what went down on last week’s SmackDown episode.
The post Money In The Bank 2021 edition saw Roman Reigns denying John Cena’s WWE SummerSlam 2021 challenge but then he would go on to accept a challenge from Balor. So the two met in the ring, this week to make the title match official for the next pay-per-view event.

In that WWE SummerSlam 2021 contract signing, Roman Reigns put his signature on paper first. The two exchanged some verbal words after Balor went to sign the contract but he was attacked from behind by Baron Corbin.
Corbin threw away the contract and took Balor to ringside and thereby laying him out. Corbin then brought the contract back to the table and went to sign it as Reigns looked on. John Cena then rushed the ring and took out Corbin. Cena picked the contract up and signed it as Reigns was seemingly angry while sitting on his chair.

Officials confirmed Cena vs. Reigns for WWE Summerslam 2021
Paul Heyman then confronted WWE Officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville backstage and said the contract is not legal since it has Balor’s name on it, but Cena’s signature. But Pearce and Deville confirmed that the contract is good to go for them, and thus Cena vs. Reigns was made official for WWE SummerSlam 2021, with the Universal Title on the line.
Meanwhile, Baron Corbin interrupted John Cena’s opening segment earlier in the night, asking him for help as he tries to recover from his current downtime. That segment ended with Cena dropping Corbin with his Attitude Adjustment finisher. But by the looks, Corbin may go forward to be feuding with Balor after costing him a title match.

WWE SummerSlam 2021 takes place on Saturday, August 21 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently, only two matches have been announced for the match card for the PPV night,
