Heading into this week’s Smackdown, another championship match was confirmed for WWE Summerslam 2022. The Usos will defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships against The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) in a rematch from Money in the Bank 2022.
The seeds of this upcoming match at Summerslam 2022 were already planted in the bygone match at MITB. This match was a show-stealer at MITB where The Usos defeated The Profits to retain the tag titles. However, during the replay, it was spotted that Ford’s shoulder was up during the pinfall count of the referee. This is why the rematch was announced in the first place.

Then on Smackdown, in a Championship Contender’s Match, the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos defeated Los Lotharios after hitting their 1D finisher on Humberto. After the match, Kayla Braxton interviewed The Usos in the ring and replayed the finish of the title match at Money in the Bank where it was shown that Ford’s shoulder was up.

Braxton implied that The Usos cheated their way to victory. The Usos took offense and said that the mistake is on the referee since he called for the match. Braxton then suggested that there will be a special guest referee for the title rematch at SummerSlam 2022. The Usos said that they have someone in mind for a special referee but nothing confirmed was revealed about him.
Drew McIntyre’s music played in the arena as he made his way out to the ring for the main event of the night as The Usos left the ring. Prior to this segment, Usos also accompanied Roman Reigns to the ring as the latter cut a promo about his upcoming title defense against Brock Lesnar at Summerslam 2022.
