Summerslam 2023 is returning to its original timeslot of early August, as announced earlier by the WWE. For the third straight year in a row, WWE will hold its biggest summer spectacle from an outdoor venue which shows the company’s efforts to sell out bigger shows in bigger capacities, around the clock. But at the same time, it needs more superstars to sell out the show.
Tickets went on sale for SummerSlam 2023 recently and pre-registration was needed to grab those. As expected, there was a lot of demand for tickets, but the demand for tickets for the show might have over-delivered in the process. Expecting a grand show, 32k tickets flew out of the window on the opening day which shows the craze around it.

Rumors around Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes’ rematch
Being the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the top-most marquee attraction of the WWE, Roman Reigns is the favorite to main-event Summerslam 2023. There’s a rumor going on that WWE could be planning to do a rematch between Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of the biggest event of the summer which may not be the case.

Summerslam 2023: Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes rematch not booked
Xero News recently confirmed that The Tribal Chief of the WWE will indeed be defending the Undisputed Title at SummerSlam 2023 but it won’t be against The American Nightmare. A rematch is said to be in the pipeline between the two of them but not for the time being. This is the sole reason why the two have been kept on two different brands via the 2023 Draft.
Many people thought Roman Reigns was going to lose the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39, but that didn’t happen as The Bloodline members helped him to get the win over Rhodes and continue with his historic title reign. Summerslam 2023 could be his first title defense since Wrestlemania 39 going by the fact that he rarely competes on TV.
WWE’s Summerslam 2023 premium live event will be going down at Detroit, Michigan’s Ford Field on Saturday, August 5th. No matches or superstars have officially been declared for the match card of the show. However, the official first poster released for the event has Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio, and Cody Rhodes indicating all of them will be participating in it.
