Fans at WWE live event in Uniondale, New York received a huge surprise, last night. None other than John Cena returned to in-ring action delivering a dream match against Daniel Bryan. This match cheapened without any prior promotion proving how much unpredictable house shows can be at times. Plus, WWE Holiday week continued to delivering some marquee matches featuring some of the biggest names on the roster.
We have reported it earlier that AJ Styles had to miss some of the live events of the Holiday week, this week. He is suffering from flu which is the main reason that doctors advised him to stay home. But WWE still advertised him on the live event hosted at Uniondale. But he was not able to show up and compete in potential WWE Championship match against Daniel Bryan. The backup name turned out to be a huge surprise on the card in the form of a 16-time world champion.

John Cena hit the ring in the midst of huge cheers from the Long Island fans. He competed against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship inside a steel cage match. The lineup added with the stipulation makes this one a sellout worthy marquee match for any given PPVs. But sadly for us, this turned out to be a non-televised matchup.
Whom Nikki Bella wants to date after John Cena?
Daniel Bryan retained the WWE Championship showing his colors, once again. The heel antics continued when he hit John Cena with a low blow. This helped him to escape the ring and put his steps outside the cage to retain the title. But the actions did not stop there. The Cenation Leader sought retribution by delivering an Attitude Adjustment to his opponent. A heartfelt speech followed by the former franchise player of the WWE to send the fans home on a happy note.
John Cena might continue his quest to get the 17th world championship of his career as he comes back on WWE TV. Currently, WWE is advertising him for a number of WWE Raw and Smackdown episodes in the month of January. He may continue to perform on TV episodes throughout this month that can lead up to his appearance in Royal Rumble.
