WWE: What to Expect from Tonight’s Smackdown Live: July 10, 2018
Sep 26, 2018 at 4:05 PM
We have reported earlier that WWE Smackdown is suffering a lot from TV rating perspective. The general manager of the show is coming up with innovative things regularly. Yet it earned the lowest rating last week.
Hopefully, the go-home episode for Extreme Rules will be able to give some good news to the blue brigade. A Wrestlemania-caliber showdown will be the headliner of tonight’s show.

Paige confirmed a rematch for the Inter-gender contest from last week. She added a stipulation to make the stakes higher. Also, we will witness the first-time matchup on Smackdown live, as the Destroyer returns to in-ring competition.
Plus, the overall hype ups will be there for the Extreme Rules PPV event. All of these will happen as the show comes live from the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Rusev had all the momentums by his side ever since becoming the number one contender for the WWE Championship. He has picked up some back to back wins on Smackdown Live to stay on a roll, lately. Plus, the vicious attack on the champion from last week gives him the upper hand for their upcoming PPV showdown.
TOMORROW NIGHT on #SDLive at 8/7c on @USA_Network…@WWEAsuka meets @realellsworth in a #LumberjackMatch, @WWE Champion @AJStylesOrg & @ShinsukeN renew their rivalry, and #TeamHellNo joins @mikethemiz on #MizTV! pic.twitter.com/NHe082FN1e

Tonight, AJ Styles gets the final opportunity to fire back and show why fans call him ‘the face that runs the place’. We expect to see redemption from the Phenomenal One from last week’s beatdown for nothing. Meanwhile, he will also have to face Shinsuke Nakamura for a rematch on the show.
The Inter-gender match is back on the card on Smackdown courtesy of the general manager. James Ellsworth featured in the contest against Asuka. But he chose to run away from the match to dodge the furious charges from the Empress of Tomorrow. It is unlikely that she will get the same chance on tonight’s show.

Paige converted the rematch into a Lumberjack match which means all the women superstars from the female roster will surround the ring. They will not allow the chinless wonder to escape the ring whenever he decides. We expect an out-and-out brawl during this match that will hype-up Smackdown women’s championship scene.
Last week’s Smackdown fallout show witnessed an interesting confrontation between Samoa Joe and Tye Dillinger. The latter one threw a challenge to the former NXT Champion to set up a contest. Later the match was inserted into the card officially. So tonight we will see both men being back on the scene after a hiatus.
Team Hell Now will try to keep momentums by their side before their championship opportunity. They are likely to confront the Bludgeon Brothers for one final time before Sunday’s PPV. Plus, they will also appear on The MIZ TV tonight. The official statement of WWE.com is hinting that this segment will open Smackdown,
“Just days before they challenge The Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at WWE Extreme Rules, Daniel Bryan & Kane will be joining The Miz for what looks to be a must-see edition of “Miz TV” that will kick off SmackDown LIVE tonight at 8/7 C.”
