WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee will feature in a match at WrestleMania 38. As reported earlier, Pat is penciled in to perform in a match at the Show of Shows, possibly against Vince McMahon and last night’s news confirms the same.
The WWE Chairman & CEO appeared on The Pat McAfee Show last night and said that he’d like to offer McAfee something that will be remembered. Vince admitted that he’s impressed with what Pat had done in the WWE, so far. Since a part of the team, Pat is Pat, which is why the combination works. It was then that Vince offered McAfee the chance to feature in action at WrestleMania 38.

McAfee responded and accepted the offer, saying that it would be a dream moment for him. Vince also mentioned how Pat won’t be a punter for the Indianapolis Colts but a linebacker in the ring. No update was given on the opponent of Pat at the upcoming premium live event.

It’s been speculated that Pat will eventually wrestle Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38, but that was not confirmed on the show and that angle hasn’t begun, either. Pat also mentioned that the internet is discussing his return to the ring in response to which Vince said he will find him a worthy opponent for him in the upcoming match.
Pat was in doubt whether the incredible offer is for real when Vince said he doesn’t b——t.
As noted, there’s no word is available on this upcoming match but the angle should feature on TV on this coming edition of Raw to confirm the Vince vs. Pat lineup for WrestleMania 38. Austin Theory has been rumored to be in McMahon’s corner for this upcoming feud, but he was not involved in the bygone interview.
Pat started working with WWE as a guest commentator and analyst for the NXT brand events in 2018. He then went through a signed deal for a multi-year contract in early 2019 to get into a feud with Adam Cole in 2020, which led to his in-ring debut at the “Takeover: XXX” event.
Pat eventually took a loss to Cole. Pat was also a leader for his team to a tough loss to The Undisputed Era at the 2020 WarGames event. Afterward, he was inserted as a commentator of the SmackDown on FOX show in April of 2021 with Michael Cole. Now, WrestleMania 38 will mark his third match for the WWE.
