With Wrestlemania 39 approaching closer, a lot of speculations are running rampant about the main event match. That obviously drags the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns into the context. Recent rumors have suggested that the top-most WWE Superstar will wrestle two matches at WrestleMania 39 (aka WrestleMania Hollywood) on Night One and Night Two.
Reports from Wrestling Observer suggested that WWE wants to split the two World Titles and have two separate champions again, one on Raw and the other on Smackdown. The working idea is that Reigns’ WrestleMania 39 opponents are going to be Cody Rhodes (Night One) and The Rock (Night Two).

WWE not intending to take risks with their marquee Wrestlemania 39 main event
In an update to the situation, WWFOldSchool has recently reported that that Roman Reigns will not wrestle two matches at WrestleMania 39 as WWE has two solid reasons behind the same:
1. WWE Officials consider that Roman Reigns losing to Rhodes a night before he faces The Rock isn’t a good idea. After all, that match is possibly going to be the biggest match of his career, and competing against Rhodes a night prior might take away a lot from the “Dream Match.” The Great One trying to take down the unbeatable Head of the Table storyline has to have a proper culmination.
2. WWE also can’t take a risk of Roman Reigns possibly getting injured on Wrestlemania 39 Night 1, as the match with Rock on Night 2 is obviously the bigger match and the main attraction for the premium live event. It’s also safe to say that WWE won’t put the biggest match in the current pro-wrestling context just can’t be jeopardized.
WWE still hopeful about Reigns vs. Rock
In the end, fans can certainly expect The Rock vs. Roman Reigns to go down in the main event of Night Two of WrestleMania 39 after years of waiting. At this point, the belief is that Roman will head into The Show of Shows as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion while Rhodes has already earned the Title match by winning the Men’s Royal Rumble 2023 match in January 2023.
According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE Officials have discussed this idea and if The Rock doesn’t have any problem then this plan will be kept intact. Additionally, The Great One himself teased the idea while speaking in an interview with The Rundown,
“Who is Head Of The Table? Without saying any names, you’re looking into his eyes right now.”
