WWE Wrestlemania: Result of United States Championship Match 1

The United States Championship scenario has been quite an interesting one for the past couple of months.

After the willing relinquishment of the title from Dolph Ziggler, Bobby Roode became the champion which was taken away by Randy Orton, after a month. Also, Jinder Mahal got involved in the mix.

He pinned both of these two title-holders which gave him the opportunity to get the contender’s spot. So, at Wrestlemania, it was a triple threat title match, previously. But, the equation changed with the inclusion of Rusev which made this title match a fatal-4-way.

Rusev teamed up with Jinder Mahal in a tag match to come up as the winner. While picking up the win, he pinned none other than the champion to demand a title opportunity. It was granted, instantly by the officials confirming the United States title match hugely at Wrestlemania.

This match was placed at number three on the match card after the women’s title match from Smackdown. Bobby Roode made his inaugural entrance at Wrestlemania to make the show, Glorious. Aiden English appeared on the ramp to start singing ‘Rusev Day’ to introduce Rusev for the crowd.

Sunil Singh did the same, as well while Jinder Mahal making the entrance.

Randy Orton also made his entrance after which the match started, as the Wrestlemania crowd broke into ‘Rusev Day’ chants, right away.

Orton went for an early RKO but failed. Mahal thought of forming a team with Rusev who picked him up and delivered a suplex. Orton joined the ring and sent Bobby Roode into the ring post.

Aiden English ran into the ring to protect Rusev but instead received an RKO. Mahal also ran into an RKO, too. Roode was able to duck the same consequence and deliver a Glorious DDT on The Viper. Rusev recovered and downed Roode and Mahal with Machka kicks.

Sunil Singh distracted him from the ringside while Rusev was going for the Accolade.

This allowed Jinder Mahal to hit with the Khallas on Rusev to pin him. With this, the Modern-day Maharaja got his first Wrestlemania moment by winning the United States title for the first time.
