Wrestlemania is getting bigger with each passing year and the extension in its schedule could be retained in a permanent manner, as it appears. WWE always looks forward to keeping things changing for the betterment of its audience and obviously their Premium Live Events come under those plans, as well. The Show of Shows is also likely to go through a change in schedule.
Ever since WrestleMania 36 in 2020 was planned amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the biggest event in the professional wrestling industry has been held on two consecutive days instead of one. That year, the show was shifted from the Raymond James Stadium to the Performance Center which was a no matchup to viewing experience since it consisted of zero audience. But the two-day concept was launched.

In 2021, WrestleMania 37 was held on back-to-back days and the similar schedule was retained for the 38th edition. Fans are bound to think under these circumstances whether or not WWE has permanently introduced the new concept for the Showcase of Immortals.
While speaking on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Dave Meltzer informed that WrestleMania 38 has been a test to see if the 2-day format can actually do well with ticket sales. The scenario is slightly different, this year since there are no restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

WWE considering to make Wrestlemania a two-night event
“I think WrestleMania is gonna be a two-night thing going forward. I think was the first step to see will people buy and they bought in good enough numbers. Did it sell out first day, were the original numbers gigantic? No, but it’s fine. It’s a big stadium. It wasn’t gonna be easy to sell it out two straight days,” Meltzer continued.
“I talked to people there and they certainly gave me the impression that the idea is two days going forward. They always can change their mind based on what happens. I think that they all thought that seven-hour show just doesn’t work. That’s more tiring than the two days.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling News)
We will have to wait and see whether WrestleMania will become a two-day event from now on. But since WWE is always looking forward to making things bigger, chances are pretty high that they continue to do so. It’s all about the best for business and under current circumstances, the company should pull off even more success in the coming years.
