More than three years later of winning the Universal Title, Roman Reigns is still in possession of the belt. He is still running with the Undisputed Universal Title while also enjoying a part-time schedule with the WWE which gives him off for several weeks when the company feels like it. That also makes universal title defense a rare scene for the top WWE superstar.

Roman Reigns’ last match was a Tribal Combat against Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023 and that title defense was his first since Wrestlemania 39 in April. Now, it appears that his next title defense will be happening in a gap of more than two months.

Roman Reigns expected to be back on TV for Crown Jewel

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Roman Reigns is not expected to defend the Undisputed Universal Title again until the WWE goes for their next trip to Saudi Arabia,

“As expected, the next Reigns match will be 11/4 in Saudi Arabia. He will be back on television in the time leading to that show to promote the match.”

Reports confirm that the next Saudi Arabia PLE, Crown Jewel 2023 will be held on Saturday, November 4 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It appears that the King Saud University Stadium (formerly known as Mrsool Park) will be hosting the show and it will witness WWE’s tribal Chief in action after a short absence from WWE programming.

WWE Smackdown: Roman Reigns Officially Advertised To Return On October 13 Episode

Update on next challenger for undisputed WWE Title

The report never confirmed who Roman Reigns will face in his next Undisputed Universal Title defense. There are scarcity of opponents for him as he has beaten almost every top WWE Superstar during his reign and it’s possible he will face someone again that he has already defeated in a rematch. Previous indications suggested that AJ Styles could be an option but that’s not confirmed.

Roman Reigns has missed Payback PLE in September and he won’t be seen in action at Fastlane in October, either. Afterward, he’s expected to be back on TV to be a part of the buildups for Crown Jewel. Currently, he’s included to appear at late November’s Survivor Series which is a big-four PLE. On the flip side, he’s noticeably missing from January’s Royal Rumble poster.
