For two nights in a row, Stone Cold Steve Austin made appearances on Wrestlemania 38 to make the WWE Universe elated. In more news, he rekindled perhaps the most famous rivalry of sports entertainment, against Vince McMahon by hitting him with a Stunner. However, that got botched, leading the internet to buzz about whether it was the worst stunner ever.

As seen in the video clippings released for Wrestlemania 38, McMahon stumbled a few steps against the ropes after Austin kicked him into the gut. Austin finally caught him and hit his signature move which barely connected. The camera angle also showed that Austin was actually laughing as he tried to catch McMahon to get done with the stunner.

Many of the fans alongside the likes of WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, Disco Inferno, and Noelle Foley posted their reactions to the botched stunner. Foley noted how it might have been the worst stunner ever in the history of the WWE. Foley also speculated that McMahon could have injured his legs and collapsed after getting kicked in the guts.

Vince McMahon returned to action at Wrestlemania 38

The Wrestlemania 38 moment occurred a few minutes after McMahon defeated Pat McAfee in an impromptu match. Vince got ready to compete against Pat after Pat defeated his protégé Austin Theory in a scheduled match with a roll-up. The Boss was irate with the shortcoming which led him to come out of retirement after almost 10 years.

After the match, McMahon encouraged Austin Theory to pose for the crowd but the glass shattered as the AT&T Stadium came unglued with the arrival of Stone Cold. Theory tried to attack Austin, but Austin hit his protégé with a stunner instead. Austin and McMahon were then having a beer toast, but predictably Austin dropped his old rival at Wrestlemania 38 with his pendant move.

Fans were a bit disappointed with McMahon’s early collapse who could have been sold the move to garner some more pops. To make things up, Austin had another beer bash with Pat McAfee only to drop him with a Stunner. The beer bash continued for some time for him before he sent us to the main event match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
