Australian pacer Glenn McGrath retired from the international cricket after the final of the 2007 ODI World Cup. During that tournament, while McGrath finished as the most wicket-taker after picking up the record 26 wickets in 11 matches, he also finished as the most wicket-taker in the Cricket World Cup history (71 wickets). He had the overall bowling figures in that tournament of 80.5-5-357-26 with an average of 13.73 and economy rate of 4.41.

Though McGrath didn’t manage to claim at least one four-wicket haul in that entire tournament, the right-arm pacer was very consistent with the ball as he managed to claim three-wicket haul for six times in that tournament – most 3+ wickets for a bowler in a Cricket World Cup edition. His best bowling performance was against Scotland during the Group Stage (at Basseterre on 14th March 2007) where McGrath had the bowling figures of 6-1-14-3.
