Surprisingly, there was no Shikhar Dhawan in the squad. Wassan confirmed to PTI that the left-handed batsman will be available for the later part of the league stage. Dhawan isn’t a part of the Test squad, having lost his place in the team last year.

Saini, the right-arm pacer who stayed with the Test side in West Indies, had missed out on selection for South Africa series with the pace department already filled up with likes of Japsrit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami.

He is expected to get a national call-up against Bangladesh, where selectors might rest regular pacers. At Delhi, he will share the new ball with Kulwant Khejroliya.
