Spin plays a key role and that’s why India is one of the favourites for the World Cup – Waqar Younis
Younis feels that spin plays a crucial role in the big tournaments and India has two quality spinners. Meanwhile, he also added that the two-time World Cup winners India has a quality pace attack for the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
During the latest Southampton ODI between England and Pakistan, commentator Younis said, “Spin plays a key role and that’s why India is one of the favourites for the World Cup as they have got two quality spinners and also a quality pace attack.”
Briefly discuss the Indian bowling attack
The world cricket is praising two Indian wrist spinners – leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav. In the last two years, both these spinners have dominated in the white-ball cricket, even outside the subcontinent. At present, Yadav is the seventh-ranked ODI bowler and Chahal is the eighth-ranked ODI bowler. Moreover, the former no.1-ranked ODI bowler, the left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, is also in this World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, the Indian national cricket team also has a top-class pace-bowling attack for the forthcoming Cricket World Cup. The right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah is currently the no.1-ranked ODI bowler. On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami are equally very tough pacers.

All these bowlers are currently in good form. In the IPL 2019, all of them have shown their consistency with the ball in hand.
India is ready to begin their journey in the upcoming Cricket World Cup. The two-time World Cup champions India will play their first match in the forthcoming tournament on 5th June against South Africa at Southampton.
