ICC World Cup 2019: Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav to Follow MS Dhoni’s Instructions
Team India spin duo – Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have often praised former national team skipper MS Dhoni for his unconditional support on and off-the-field. Yet again, they’re ready to follow what Dhoni would suggest them on the pitch in the United Kingdom (UK). The World Cup will commence on May 30 when hosts England will face South Africa at Kennington Oval.
Over the years, Dhoni has been serving as a calming force for the team. He has been playing a quintessential role while guiding the young pool of players in the lineup.
With the twelfth edition of the World Cup merely nine days away to kick-off in London, the leg-spinner Chahal reiterated they’re bound to obey what Dhoni has to say.
Consequently, this reflects how the duo, including Kuldeep, has followed Dhoni advice to bowl according to the situation on most of the occasions.
As the duo has been primarily benefited from the astute thinker, Chahal maintained Dhoni is much need player in the team. He added when they lose the track Dhoni comes in for their rescue.
Dhoni guides Chahal and Kuldeep:
The Haryana-based bowler Chahal also maintained they do discuss a matter with Dhoni if they do come up their own plan.
“Whatever happens, you need Mahi bhai. We still obey what he says. He intervenes when we go wrong. It was the same when we first arrived. Even today, if we plan something of our own, we feel the need to talk to him about it,” Chahal told Times of India.
Chahal, who has formed a deadly spin pair with Kuldeep. They’re keen to deliver in English conditions while featuring in their first-ever World Cup.
The spin stars have been impactful on distinct surfaces which further saw them strengthening India’s bowling core for the ODI showpiece.
Kuldeep, Chahal partnership:
While speaking about his association with Kuldeep, Chahal remarked they have been backing each other and knew their game. He also stated they had been together while representing Mumbai Indians (MI).
Besides, he believes their bond has helped him to prove their mettle.
“It feels nice to know that our partnership works. We know each other for seven-eight years. And we were together at the Mumbai Indians. We trust each other. If I have a bad over, I know he will try to cover it up from the other end by being a bit defensive so that I can make a good comeback in my next over,” he said.
Kuldeep and Chahal will be a vital cog in the Indian setup. Skipper Virat Kohli is aiming to bag his first World Cup trophy as captain. The Men in Blue will open their campaign against South Africa on June 05.
Meanwhile, India will begin their World Cup show on June 05 when they will take on South Africa in Southampton.
